Access Control
Select use Paxton access control systems, since these are the market leaders in access control technology. Paxton come in several basic forms, stand alone access control, wireless control and PC based access control.
Stand alone systems are single door systems, with each door operating separately. Doors are operated using security cards or keypads. This system is most suitable for low-security or private homes with lower numbers of doors.
PC based systems enable networked mechanisms to be set up, enabling all doors to be administered centrally from a single PC. This system is ideal for commercial properties with larger numbers of doors or which require higher security levels.
Door Entry systems.
Select offers a complete range of door entry systems from small residensial dwellings to large business. From the basic model, single station door entry residential kits to the sophisticated video entry systems most access control applications are catered for. An impressive range of audio and video door entry telephones is available incorporating the features and functions demanded by the expanding door entry systems and access control markets.
With Select’s range of access control and entry systems, you can control whoever is trying to gain entry to your property before allowing them entrance. We also offer a wide range of electronic keypads, card readers and proximity devices for commercial customers, allowing businesses to control who has access to their property and when, as well as keeping a database of who has gone where, and when they went.
Select are officially registered installers with the country’s leading supplier of electronic access control – Paxton Access.
Automatic Gate systems.
Automatic gates and barrier systems offer security and prevention of unauthorised access, tariff collection, convenience, and prestige.
Automatic Arm Barriers
Automatic Arm Barriers block the path of oncoming vehicles and can be raised to allow the vehicle to pass through. They are a highly visible and common security device.
The Automatic Arm Barrier is a cost effective solution to controlling parking. Designed to be used in conjunction with a variety of entry systems, e.g. Time clock, proximity card, token etc, the heavy duty automated arm barrier is suitable for high traffic volumes. Alternative colours available on request, optional skirt is available for added security.
Bollards
We provide comprehensive ranges of static bollards, telescopic bollards and hoop barriers. Each range includes products in different specifications and styles so that you can choose items that will deliver both the security and look that your project requires. With pneumatic and electronic products you can be assured that you have specified the best protection for your scheme, whether it be to provide access control, ram raid deterrence or pedestrian walkways.
Solar Charging Systems
The answer to that most frequently asked question is – YES! “Solar power does work in rainy old Britain”. Select have installed solar powered automated gates of all sizes, in all locations throughout the UK. The solar panels do not require sunlight as we might be in trouble in the UK, were that to be the case. The solar panels simply require daylight that then acts as a ‘charger’ to the battery.
How do solar gate systems work?
In simple terms, we operate an automatic gate using battery power. The battery is charged by the solar panel during all daylight
hours. The battery then works the automated gate - day and night.
Because the system we choose to use when using solar power requires far less power than traditional systems - we can, and do, successfully operate automatic gate openers, miles from the nearest traditional power supply.
It is important to choose the right size solar panel and battery to suit your particular application. The more frequently the gate is operated and the more accessories that are continually draining the system, will determine what size solar panels and battery to choose. One of the changes we have made over the years is to have a choice of size of battery and not just the solar panel. This we believe gives everyone far more choice to suit any application. You may prefer a small solar panel and very large battery, or the opposite: both have their own merits. Quite often it is a bit of both.
